Dongfeng

Dongfeng Motor Corporation, a major Chinese automaker, has significantly expanded its passenger vehicle lineup since the 1990s. Initially focusing on commercial vehicles, Dongfeng entered the passenger car market through joint ventures with international brands. In 1992, it partnered with PSA Group to form Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile, marking its entry into car manufacturing.

A pivotal moment came in 2002 when Dongfeng formed a 50-50 joint venture with Nissan, broadening its passenger vehicle portfolio. This partnership led to the creation of the Venucia brand in 2010, targeting less affluent consumers in inland cities.

Dongfeng has also developed its own passenger car brands, including Fengshen (Aeolus) and Forthing. In recent years, the company has embraced new energy vehicles (NEVs) and smart technologies, partnering with companies like CATL for battery development.
